Born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, South Side, Mathematics (then known as Supreme Cut Master) began his career in 1987 by DJing block parties and throwing his own park jams in Baisley Projects. In 1990, Mathematics linked up with (then) Cold Chillin’ artist, and one of Wu Tang’s founding members, The Genius, aka GZA. This partnership would earn Mathematics a spot on his first official tour; The Cold Chillin Blizzard Tour

Mathematics’ first real exposure to the nuts and bolts of production came late one night as he attended a session where he witnessed RZA construct a beat from nothing (the track would become Raekwon’s classic “Ice Cream”), and inspired Math to follow his lead.
While putting the finishing touches on his next solo album, Math decided to put together a compilation of rare & remixed Wu-tang Clan material, produced entirely by Mathematics, called “Return of the Wu”. This album features the entire Wu-tang Clan with vocals and remixes, some of which, have never been heard before. A testament to Math’s long standing legacy with the Clan, Return of the Wu is sure to please any hard core fans of the group.
